This study is a non-equivalent control group before and after design to confirm the effects of critical thinking ability, problem solving ability, and self-directed learning ability by applying the flipped learning teaching method in the adult nursing course of nursing students. The subjects were fourth-year nursing students enrolled in adult nursing course. The experimental group (n=64) received classes after providing clip videos and prior learning materials in the pre-class, and the control group (n=64) received general lecture classes. Data were analyzed using ¥ö2-test, independent t-test, and paired t-test using SPSS WIN 27.0. There was a significant difference in critical thinking ability (t=2.74, p=0.007), problemsolving ability (t=2.32, p=0.022), and self-directed learning ability (t=3.44, p=0.001). Applying the flipped learning teaching method to the adult nursing course was effective in improving the critical thinking ability, problem-solving ability, and self-directed learning ability of fourth-year nursing students.
